To make sure support is available to students whenever they need it, the Eye Squad established an independent, confidential, hotline. Staffed 24 hours a day by trained counselors, the hotline can be reached by dialing *9111 from any phone in Israel.
Hotline staff aims to listen, empathize, and offer constructive advice to all callers. Each of our squad members has prior experience counseling teens, both within Israel and in the Diaspora, and is trained to relate to callers in a sensitive and professional manner. We continue to pursue further training to ensure that our staff is up to date on the issues facing our callers and the best responses to these issues.
Services provided by the Eye Squad are completely free of charge. In addition, we have partnered with a group of therapists, heath care providers and other counselors available for referrals when deemed helpful for the student. Our database of professionals spans the religious spectrum, to ensure our ability to meet the needs of all students.
The Eye Squad also encourages parents, rabbis, teachers, and therapists to call from the United States, Canada, and Great Britain if they are in need of advice about their children and students currently studying in Israel.
