While it is not our goal to serve as a guide to picking a school/program, the Eye Squad will be happy to assist in any way possible.

Can the Eye Squad contact my child?

While the Eye Squad can technically call your child, we find it best for parents to encourage their children to call the Eye Squad. This way, a student does not get “a call out of the blue” and reject the possibility of someone trying to lend a helping hand.

Will the Eye Squad tell me the content of the discussion with my child?

The success of the Eye Squad hotline rests in its ability to remain confidential. Therefore any conversation, whether with a student, parent, educator, or therapist, is kept in strict confidence.

Supporting the Eye Squad means that one has an inherent understanding and agreement of the existence of the issues that the Eye Squad addresses. That being said, there are a good number of one-year programs that support the efforts of the Eye Squad. Other programs who have yet to support the Eye Squad are met with on an individual basis so that a face to face presentation of the issues and healthy dialogue can take place.

Who are the therapists, doctors, and other professionals that the Eye Squad refers students to?

The Eye Squad has built a cadre of partners to serve as referrals should the need arise. These therapists, doctors, and professionals have all been interviewed by Eye Squad staffers to ensure that they are experts in their respective fields and a good fit for the students we serve. All partners are Anglos with years of experience in their respective fields.
